Manage Encryption Keys
Encryption keys are used by disguise rules as part of the process of defining format-preserving encryption actions. Each action uses the specified encryption key to determine the replacement value for the encryption action.
When an encryption key is defined, you assign a name and description to the key. That name is used within the disguise rule action to request the use of a specific encryption key. The disguise rule does not see the key value, only the key name.
The Manage Encryption Keys view lists the currently defined encryption keys. Encryption keys are defined as global resources so that they can be shared by multiple projects. Add an entry to the list for each required key.
From the Manage Encryption Keys view, you can create new encryption keys, open existing encryption keys that appear in the list, and delete encryption keys.
To create a new encryption key, click New. For more information, see Define Encryption Key Wizard.
By default, managed encryption keys are available to all projects.
