AE is first and foremost a software product that improves batch throughput, manages workload service goals (SLAs) and optimizes resource utilization (primarily CPU) while honoring your datacenter-specific workload constraints.
The essential features are the
ThruPut Manager
AE features that deliver these throughput improvements and automation benefits, and are applicable to any datacenter. The setup and deployment of this subset is an essential implementation.
There are several other, mostly independent, features that are available to address issues particular to your datacenter. These are referred to as elective features, and assume you have completed the essential implementation.
Part 1 (Concepts-guide) and Parts 1 and 2 (Usage-guide) focus on the essential features; Part 2 (Concepts-guide) and Part 3 (Usage-guide) provide information on the elective features.
