Requests the command syntax from HELP.

dsname

Specifies the data set name where a new JAL internal text is stored.

If a data set name is not supplied, JAL is refreshed using the data set name (and member name, if any) specified in the TMSS initialization parameters, unless the JAL initialization statement was not specified when TMSS was started. In that case, a warning message is issued and the command terminates.

member

Specifies the PDS member name of a new JAL internal text.

PRIMARY

The primary JAL is refreshed or if a dsname[(member)] is specified the JAL is loaded as the new PRIMARY JAL.

SECONDARY

The secondary JAL is refreshed or if a dsname[(member)] is specified the JAL is loaded as the new SECONDARY JAL.

Note

For information on secondary JAL, see "Chapter 11. JAL Compare Facility" in the DAL/ JAL User Guide for more information.

Examples:

/JAL REFRESH SYS1.PARMLIB(BKUPJAL)
/JAL REFRESH NEWJAL.OUTPUT SECONDARY

Notes:

  • If JAL has not been previously loaded and the command specifies a data set name, this command loads the new JAL.
  • If the command specifies a partitioned data set, a member name must be included.
  • When new JAL is loaded, any EVENTs that are deleted or changed are displayed with their new status.
  • When the new JAL is successfully processed, the new JAL is displayed as it is for the DISPLAY command.
