$DM (JES2 command extension)


Add a Message to JOBLOG

This extension to the JES2 command $DM allows you to add a message to the JOBLOG of a job that is on the input or output queue. Only the $DMJnnnnn form of the command is supported.

Scope: JES2 node

Duration: One time effect.

Represents the JES2 job ID, consisting of the letter J followed by 1-7 digits.

message-text

Is 1-90 characters of message text enclosed in apostrophes (') to be added to the JOBLOG of the specified job. If the text contains no blanks, you can omit the apostrophes. To include an apostrophe, use two consecutive apostrophes ('').

Examples:

$DMJ20308,'Please add correct forms information'

Note

If the command is entered while the job is executing, the standard JES2 support is invoked.
