Promote from DEV1 to STG1

This section provides information about how to Promote to STG1.

Promote from DEV1 to STG1

Type P to promote the module from the DEV1 level to STG1, and press Enter. You could also use the Slash (/) command to dynamically change the Tool Bar to show the possible options, click Promote, and press Enter.

As shown in the following figure, the Task List Op is now P and the Lev column now shows STG1 instead of DEV1.

Type B to Browse

To view the module at the STG1 level, type B (browse) to see where the module is. The file name will now reflect the STG1 level.

Module is Now in STG1

The module has now been copied to the STG1 level and deleted from DEV1.

ISPW can clean up levels automatically as it promotes modules through the change cycle.

Promote Operation is Very Powerful

The Promote operation can also regenerate executables, invoke syntax checkers, warn about change impacts, and so on. For a full description of the Promote operation, see Main Menu Option P: Container and Task Lists.
