ISPW Change Cycle Example – The Simplest Case

The following is a simple scenario within ISPW starting with an existing ISPW Assignment with a REXX Exec being checked out, updated, and promoted back to production. In ISPW, the steps to accomplish this are:

  1. Add the module to an assignment
  2. Check out from PRD to DEV1
  3. Edit in DEV1
  4. Promote from DEV1 to STG1
  5. Promote from STG1 to QA
  6. Promote from QA to PRD

These steps can be achieved using the following ISPW operations:

  • A – Add Task to Assignment
  • C – Checkout
  • S – Select
  • P – Promote (three times).

Important

This section presents a simple case example. See the description of each operation in Main Menu Option P: Container and Task Lists for more complex cases.

The following figure shows the ISPW Task List Help screen, provided here with the four operations listed above highlighted for reference.
