Step 6: Load Generate Parameters
ISPW uses saved parameters against each component to determine its generate processing. These are called Compile Parameters and are used to tailor the generate process at generate run time. This step populates the ISPW Generate Parameters according to the installation requirements.
Calling the Generate Parameters
Select Option “G” on the M.AL screen (Option M.AL) to load the Generate Parms for the target ISPW Application and Stream.
The steps listed in the following table are involved in populating the Generate Parameters.
Populating the Generate Parameters
Step | Description |
|---|---|
1 | Select Option “G” and JCL will be created. |
2 | The first step in the JCL communicates with ISPW to create a list of all components for the ISPW Application just loaded. |
3 | TheISPW program WZZALG is executed, which reads in the Task data. For each Task, WZZALG passes control to the User Exit WZUALG for any special processing, then writes the Generate Parameters for the Component. |
Job Output
Output from the job (Job Output) displays the processing for each component.

The variables listed in the above figure are specific to thatISPW Task and are stored in ISPWto be used when a Generate is requested.
