We are announcing enhancements to versions 21.01.00 and 17.02.00 of the BMC Compuware File-AID products.

This enhancements expands LRECL=X dataset support for records up to 4 megabytes. 

  • Dataset utility (F 3.2) allows allocation of the LRECL=X datasets with record format = VS or VBS and length=32768. The Dataset information screen displays LRECL=X if the record length = 32768. 
  • Batch DUMP, PRINT, and LIST print LRECL=X records up to 4 megabytes without RDW. 
  • In formatted (FMT) and vertical formatted (VFMT) modes, when data is found past the end of the layout, FIND switches to unformatted (UNFMT) or character (CHAR) mode.
  • In Browse and Edit (F 1 and F 2), UNFMT and CHAR modes are updated to show a seven-digit number for COULMNS when the record length exceeds 999999.
  • UNFMT mode dynamically increases the starting column number to seven digits.

  1. Go toProduct Downloads in BMC Support Central.

  2. Click either of the following interfaces and perform the relevant steps:
