Purpose | Use this page to display a banner announcement on each page of the space. Create the Space announcements page in the master space, outside of the Home branch. You can version the Space announcements page to enable different banners to be published into different target spaces, however, the banner that is displayed in the versioned (master) space itself only displays the most recently-published banner. If you find errors in the banner area of your versioned space and you are sure the Space announcements page is set up correctly, try publishing the page to the same space. For more information, see Space-announcements-banners.
Removing | When an announcement is no longer needed, remove the BMC Space Banner macro.
Translation | Localized spaces using the L10n Viewport theme must change the name of this page to Space announcements l10n. See Configuring-the-Scroll-ViewPort-theme-for-translated-spaces.
Usage | Choose one or none of the following BMC Space Banner macros. If your space requires another kind of announcement, you can use this page in coordination with your team lead and editors. |
Using File-AID/RDX
File-AID/RDX, one in a series of products for managing related data across multiple platforms, enables programmers and database administrators to easily extract, load, and delete a complete subset of related data from Db2 objects and/or MVS files. Data related by referential integrity, or application-defined relationships can be copied within their respective Db2 or MVS environments, with full support for all relationship constraints.
File-AID/RDX allows programmers to use a familiar ISPF-like format to create and populate test objects that accurately reflect the production relationships, yet contain only a relevant subset of the data — without coding SQL or writing programs. DBAs can migrate related sets of data from one Db2 subsystem and/or MVS environment to another, confident that all parent/child relationships are properly maintained — without extensive manual procedures.

Key Features
The following section describes File-AID/RDX’s key features.
Profiles Set Extract, Load and Disguise Environments
File-AID/RDX’s profile utility captures all vital extract, load and disguise variables. Select a profile and the extract, load and disguise functions are preset accordingly. You can modify existing profiles to create new ones that reflect your requirements for different extract, load and disguise environments and save them for future reference.
Extract Data From Multiple Related and Unrelated Objects
File-AID/RDX automatically extracts data from one or more related or unrelated objects, including Db2 tables and MVS files. The related data can include Db2 referential integrity data, and user-defined application-related data. You can extract Db2 data from tables in remote subsystems by specifying the Db2 location.
Use Extract Criteria to Customize Extraction
File-AID/RDX enables you to create and save multiple sets of extraction selection criteria without programming SQL for each object in an extract. Extract criteria options include:
- Specify WHERE clause values online without creating an SQL SELECT statement.
- Specify a maximum number of rows (records) and/or select every nth row to extract.
- Exclude referential integrity and user-defined application relationships that are not required to test a specific application.
- Specify a key file as selection criteria for a Db2 driving object.
- Specify formatted selection criteria and selection options for MVS objects.
- Specify the navigation controls that determine how File-AID/RDX chases the relationships during extract processing.
Save Extract Requests for Repeated Extract and Load
File-AID/RDX saves your extract requests in an extract request repository from which you can select it for a repeat extract, or as the starting point for a new extract request, or easily modify or “clone” it to run on a different Db2 subsystem or MVS environment which has the same objects but with different names. The completed extract is also put into the load request repository to be loaded into target objects.
Data Privacy in Related Extract
File-AID/RDX provides the ability to disguise Db2 UDB for z/OS and MVS data within the related extract process, at the field level. All data privacy functionality in File-AID/Data Solutions will be accessible from File-AID/RDX to disguise data including:
- Key Encryption
- Key Decryption
- Aging
- Data Generation
- Translation
Load Related Objects
File-AID/RDX loads extracted data into multiple objects. You can load the data into existing objects that are empty or already contain data. If you want to specify new target objects, File-AID/RDX will automatically create the objects before loading the data.
Support for Insert or Replace Data in Load Option
If data already exist in the object to be loaded, you can specify that duplicate data be replaced with the extracted data or discarded.
Column-to-column Mapping in Load Option
Load data to objects that are defined differently than the objects from which data was extracted. File-AID/RDX provides a screen that enables you to map “from” table columns, or fields, to “to” columns, or fields, of the same or different types and lengths. Columns or fields with the same name, type, and length are automatically mapped. New columns in the “to” object can be set to default values or mapped from other columns or fields.
Load default values (literals) in Load Option
When loading extracted data to objects you may also insert a default value for target columns or fields in place of the extracted column or field data.
Save Load Requests for Repeated Load
File-AID/RDX saves your load requests in a load request repository from which you can select it for a repeat load request.
Delete Extracted Records From Source
File-AID/RDX enables you to delete records from one or more related Db2 or MVS objects from which you have previously extracted the data. File-AID/RDX determines which records to delete based on the contents of the File-AID/RDX extract file you specify.
Graphical Relationship Display
View your relationships in a graphical display. File-AID/RDX’s Graphical Relationship Display allows you to better visualize which relationships are included or excluded during extract processing.
Formatted Relationship Report
File-AID/RDX can generate a formatted report that contains information about all the relationships in the relationship file you specify.
Additional Features
This section provides information about the following topics:
Import Db2 Referential Integrity Relationships
File-AID/RDX enables you to migrate referential integrity relationship information from Db2 and store it in a central location, the File-AID/RDX relationship file. File-AID/RDX users can perform this online on a selective RI basis or in batch for all RI in a Db2 subsystem. During extract File-AID/RDX uses only the RI information that is stored in the relationship file.
Identify User-Defined Application-Related Data
File-AID/RDX lets you specify relationships between Db2 and/or MVS objects that are application-defined and automatically includes these during extract.
Identify User-Defined External IMS Related Data
File-AID/RDX lets you specify relationships between Db2 or MVS objects (parent) and external IMS databases (dependent) that are application-defined either directly to the root segment or to one or more fields of the specified segment layout.
During extract, File-AID/RDX creates a key file for related external IMS data that File-AID for IMS can extract. Optionally, you can execute the File-AID for IMS extract as a step following the File-AID/RDX extract.
Create Extended Application Relationships
File-AID/RDX enables you to create application relationships that use only a portion of a column/field, two unlike columns/fields, or only a portion of two unlike columns/fields. You can then use the extended application relationship to extract data like you would any other application relationship.
Create Conditional (Data-driven) Application Relationships
Application relationships can also include one or more conditional tests on the parent object to be evaluated at extract execution time; the conditional relationship (AR-C) will then only be navigated when the condition is true.
Edit Extract, Load, and Delete JCL
After File-AID/RDX generates the JCL for the extract, load, or delete functions, the Edit JCL feature lets you modify and save the JCL for future use within the same File-AID/RDX release.
Reporting
File-AID/RDX generates reports after it performs the extract, delete, and load processes.
The Extract reports provide information on the relationship criteria and selection criteria specified for the extract. It also identifies the number of records extracted from each object and can include a Progress Update report.
The Load reports provide authority-related information, as well as file, table, and index creation output. It also identifies which objects and the number of records that were used in the load process.
Compatible With Existing Security Applications
File-AID/RDX operates within current security environments including Db2, RACF, CA ACF2, and CA Top Secret.
ISPF-Like User Interface
The File-AID/RDX interface has an ISPF-like look and feel, as is used throughout the File-AID line of products.
