Allocate IAM (A)

The Allocate cluster function (option A) also allocates IAM data sets. There are three ways to show File-AID that the file is IAM on the Allocate New VSAM Cluster screen. Specify $IAM as at least one of the following:

  • Part of the data set name
  • The Owner ID
  • SMS Data class or Storage class.
