FEDIT (FE, F2)

The FEDIT command recursively invokes the File-AID Edit function. The command is available in all File-AID functions.

data set name

Qualified (quoted) or unqualified (no quotes) data set name to pass to the Edit - Data set Specification screen. If a data set name is not specified, File-AID uses the last data set referenced.

Guidelines

The FEDIT command may be used to invoke another File-AID edit session without ending the current session. After the new edit session is completed, the original session is continued.

Use the FE abbreviation or the F2 alias to invoke FEDIT. You can enter FEDIT from any screen with a COMMAND field. Use the END command (PF3) on the Browse screen or the RETURN command (PF4) on a data display to return to the screen from which you entered the FEDIT command.
