Catalog data set (C)
The Catalog data set option (C) catalogs a dataset name in either the system catalog, or the catalog specified in the Catalog name field on the Dataset Utility screen (Dataset Utility screen). Enter a C in the OPTION field, a valid dataset name in the Dataset name field, and a valid identifier in the Volume serial field of the Dataset Utility screen to catalog a data set.
Press Enter to catalog the data set, or use the END command (PF3) to cancel the catalog process. When the process is complete, File-AID displays the message: DATAS ET CATALOGED in the upper-right corner of the Dataset Utility screen.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
