Output criteria


The following figure enables you to specify the output file options for your compare. This screen is displayed if you specified Y in the Specify output criteria field on the Compare - Criteria Options screen.

Field Descriptions

Specify file number (1-6) and enter data set names to write records

OLD Deleted

OLD Changed

OLD Matched

NEW Inserted

NEW Changed

NEW Matched

You may direct any (or all) of the above compare records (or members for a PDS) types to one of the six output files by entering a number 1-6 in the compare type and then entering the corresponding output file information below.

File 1-6

Name

Enter the data set name of the file.

Member

Enter the member name for the PDS. If this field is left blank for a PDS compare, then each output member name is copied from each input member name.

Volume

Specify a volume serial number for an uncatalogued data set.

Disp

Specify the disposition of the file. Valid entries are:

OLD

(Default) Existing file in which the entire file is replaced.

NEW

When NEW is specified, you are prompted to allocate the file online. Once the file is allocated, File-AID changes the Disp to OLD.

MOD

Existing file in which the new data is added to the end of the file.

After you have completed the fields on the this screen, press Enter to continue.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
