Viewing layouts


File-AID has a helpful function for interpreting COBOL or PL/I record layouts and presenting an information display showing the following information for each field:

  • Field name
  • Field level as defined in data declaration
  • Field length
  • Field start and end locations
  • Picture of field as defined in data declaration
  • System-assigned field number.
