Viewing layouts
File-AID has a helpful function for interpreting COBOL or PL/I record layouts and presenting an information display showing the following information for each field:
- Field name
- Field level as defined in data declaration
- Field length
- Field start and end locations
- Picture of field as defined in data declaration
- System-assigned field number.
