Reformat Definition Editor

The following figure enables you to create reformat definitions or change existing definitions. File-AID displays the Reformat Definition Editor screen when you:

  • Leave the OPTION field blank and specify the name of an existing data set and member on the Reformat Definition screen
  • Complete the fields on the Reformat Record Layouts screen and press Enter.

The editor allows you to use field references and field overlays to create a reformat definition. You can define the following on the Reformat Definition Editor screen:

  • Records from the source data set to copy to the target data set
  • Source fields for each target field
  • Initial values for new target fields.
