Compare print options page 1 - formatted and unformatted
The following figure enables you to specify the print format, the maximum differences to report, and which type of records to print. This screen is displayed when you specify a Y in the Modify print defaults field on the Compare - Criteria Options screen for a formatted or unformatted compare.

Field Descriptions
Specify Initial Print Options:
The values specified for the options on this screen are saved in your user profile. Subsequent compare reports use the last values that were entered even if you do not return to this screen.
Print format
Specify the print format:
F
Formatted (This option is the default for a Formatted compare and not available for an Unformatted compare.)
H
Three-line hexadecimal.
C
Single-line character (default for Unformatted Compare).
M
Mixed. Valid character data is printed as characters and unprintable data is printed in hexadecimal.
Max differences to report
Specify a number to limit the maximum number of differences to report. A numeric value in this field guards against excessive output. The default is ALL. A value of zero reports all differences (the same as ALL).
Print CHANGED records
Specify Y (Yes) to print or N (No) to suppress printing the changed records. The default is Y (Yes).
Print INSERTED records
Specify Y (Yes) to print or N (No) to suppress printing the inserted records. The default is Y (Yes).
Print DELETED records
Specify Y (Yes) to print or N (No) to suppress printing the deleted records. The default is Y (Yes).
Print MATCHED records
Specify Y (Yes) to print or N (No) to suppress printing the matched records. The default is N (No).
PDS Compare
For a PDS Compare only, the following Print Options are applied:
PDS report options
Specify one of the following valid entries:
M
Member name report. Prints a member name report that lists the PDS members in column format and flags the compare results by member name.
D
Detail report. Prints the standard Compare Detail report for each member compared.
B
Both (default). Prints both the Member name report and the standard Compare Detail report.
MEMBER name report columns
Specify the number of print columns to use for the format of the Member Name report. Valid entries are 1 to 8. The default is 8.
