Compare execution options
The following figure allows you to specify whether you want to process the compare online or batch; and if you want to use existing compare criteria to compare the data sets, and the compare criteria data set information.
For a pre-release 8.7 compare criteria data set, specify Compare Criteria Usage of M (Modify) and the data set information. On the Compare - Criteria Build Complete screen, you may save the new-style criteria to the same or a different data set. These steps convert the old-style criteria to the new-style criteria.

You can enter a pattern data set name in this field to display a list of data sets from which you can make a selection. A pattern data set name or mask consists of explicit characters or a combination of explicit and pattern characters. You can also specify a member name, in parentheses, along with the data set name in this field. For more information on specifying a data set name, see Specifying a data set name.
Member name
If the file is a partitioned data set (PDS or PDSE), enter the member name.
You can leave this field blank or enter a pattern member name in this field to display a list of members from which you can make a selection. A pattern member name or mask consists of explicit characters or a combination of explicit and pattern characters. See Pattern Member Names for a complete description.
