RCHANGE

The RCHANGE command repeats an execution of a CHANGE command.

The command is available in the Edit function in all modes.

RCHANGE changes a single occurrence of the data specified in the val1 parameter to the replacement data in the val2 parameter of the last CHANGE command. See CHANGE-CHG-C. If no CHANGE command has been executed in the current data set, File-AID displays the message: ENTER CHANGE COMMAND.

The following parameters are inherited from the last CHANGE command: rel (relational operator); val1val2; VALID or INVALID; X or NX; col1 and col2 (column range); lrange (line ranges), /field-name or /field-number; NEXT, PREV, FIRST, LAST, or ALL.

If the previous CHANGE command specified LAST or PREV, the RCHANGE search direction is backward. If NEXT, FIRST, or ALL was specified, the RCHANGE search direction is forward. In all cases, only one change operation is executed if a match with the previous CHANGE command is found.

If a previous search produced the message: TOP OF DATA REACHED or BOTTOM OF DATA REACHED, RCHANGE continues a forward or backward search at the opposite end of the data set. If a previous search produced the message: TOP OF RANGE REACHED or BOTTOM OF RANGE REACHED, RCHANGE continues a search in the same direction beyond the previously specified line range.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
