MAP

The MAP command invokes the Formatted mode. The MAP command is synonymous with the FMT command (see FMT).

One record is displayed at a time and is formatted according to the record layout. The record to be mapped is determined by the cursor position in the data display. If the cursor is located above the data area, the record at the top of the character, vertical formatted, or unformatted edit display is mapped.

The selected record is displayed as individual formatted data fields if S or X is specified for the Record layout usage field on the Edit - Data set Specification screen. Otherwise, File-AID prompts to select a layout in the Record Layout Specification panel.
