Enhancements to BMC Compuware File-AID/MVS

The following table describes the enhancements to BMC Compuware File-AID/MVS:

Description

Reference

We have added a new Allocate IAM (AI) dedicated option to the VSAM Utility function. You can use this option to specify IAM override options during allocation. To allocate IAM data sets by using AK, AE, or AR, specify the owner or DSN node as $IAM.

The IAM Information display now functions similarly to the VSAM information display and provides additional information about IAM data sets.

We have enhanced the navigation process for zFS files in the Edit and Browse functions.

Not applicable

We have added the following enhancements to the PL/I Compiler Options display:

  • COBOL and PL/I compiler options are arranged in the ascending alphabetical order and reorganized into one column.
  • We have added FIND (F) and RFIND (R) commands.

We have added SMF Record Type 113 Layouts and Selection Criteria in SMF record mapping.

In the Library Utility, we have enhanced the FIND command to search for strings regardless of their case (uppercase, lowercase, or mixed case).

We have expanded the support for primary and line commands in the Catalog Utility. This support includes a SEARCH utility command that finds a string across all the data sets in the generic list.

Enhancement to BMC Compuware File-AID for IMS

The following table describes the enhancement to BMC Compuware File-AID for IMS:

In the Edit/Browse, we have added support for processing Dynamic PSB in an IMS Managed ACB environment by using the IMS Native z/OS DDL utility (zDDL).
