Purpose | Use this page to display a banner announcement on each page of the space. Create the Space announcements page in the master space, outside of the Home branch. You can version the Space announcements page to enable different banners to be published into different target spaces, however, the banner that is displayed in the versioned (master) space itself only displays the most recently-published banner. If you find errors in the banner area of your versioned space and you are sure the Space announcements page is set up correctly, try publishing the page to the same space. For more information, see Space-announcements-banners.
Removing | When an announcement is no longer needed, remove the BMC Space Banner macro.
Translation | Localized spaces using the L10n Viewport theme must change the name of this page to Space announcements l10n. See Configuring-the-Scroll-ViewPort-theme-for-translated-spaces.
Usage | Choose one or none of the following BMC Space Banner macros. If your space requires another kind of announcement, you can use this page in coordination with your team lead and editors. |
Editing your user profiles
You have two types of user profiles. Your session user profile contains attributes of your File-AID for Db2 Object Administration session, such as your PF keys. These attributes are retained from session to session.
Your subsystem user profile contains information specific to a Db2 subsystem. This information includes the job statements for generating JCL, default creators, and the like. You may have more than one subsystem user profile.
Both types of profiles are accessible through the user profile windows that you access in this section. Other options and profiles that affect how File-AID for Db2 Object Administration functions for you are described in detail in section 6, Options and Profiles.
What’s in this section
After you learn to access your user profile windows, you learn to change your job statement defaults, PF keys, and other defaults. These instructions apply to both your session user profile and your subsystem user profile.
Other ways to access the user profile windows
Most of your user profile can be accessed through the User Profile windows. In this section, you access these windows by selecting PROFILE from the Main Menu. These additional methods are available to execute the fast-path command MENU.PRO. This command opens a new Main Menu and Profile Display Menu.
Other aspects of your profile can be set through primary commands. These commands and the User Profile windows are detailed in this section.
Step-by-step instructions
These instructions provide specific steps for accessing the windows that you can use to change your job statements, your PF keys, and the current status for many profile values.
Complete Learning the Basics before using this section for information on making selections and managing the windows.
Changing default values
This section shows you how to change the default data sets, and job statements that File-AID for Db2 Object Administration uses when generating JCL. These values are part of your subsystem user profile. You can specify other values for other subsystems.
- Access File-AID for Db2 Object Administration from the File-AID for Db2 Utilities Menu. The File-AID for Db2 Object Administration Main Menu should be displayed.
Select PROFILE from the Command column.
The Profile Display menu opens (see the following figure).

Make changes as necessary by typing over existing values.
When you press Enter after making a change, a message window opens that shows which values have been updated. Press <Help> for an explanation of any field.
The total number of rows in the User Profile Display and Edit window is shown in the lower left window border. To scroll down, use the <Down> key. The default is PF8. To scroll up, use the <Up> key. The default is PF7.
Press <End> to remove the User Profile Display and Edit window.
The Profile Display menu remains (Profile Display menu. Your window opens at the upper-left corner).
Select another category from the Profile Display menu. Make changes as necessary.
Keep making changes until you are satisfied with your profile.
Changing Your PF key assignments
You can also use the User Profile Options window to change your current PF key assignments. Another way, not discussed in this section, is to execute the KEYS primary command. Your screen should look like Profile Display menu. Your window opens at the upper-left corner before you continue.
Select KEYS from the Profile Display Menu.
A window opens that shows your current PF key assignments (see the following figure). Type over the current values to change them. When you press Enter, File-AID for Db2 Object Administration opens a message window. To return your PF keys to the default settings, enter the RESET command in this window.Only in this window will the RESET command restore the default PF key assignments. RESET in all other windows restores a window to its initial status by unexcluding columns and rows, releasing columns from frozen or hidden status, and deleting pending row commands.

Finding defaults for system variables
System variables are current values from your session user profile, subsystem user profile, and installation options. Some are Db2-related variables that you use for most catalog operations, such as executing SQL. Your screen may be showing any window to continue with this section.
Execute the fast-path command MENU.PRO.SYSVAR.
Fast-path commands are entered in the COMMAND field. File-AID for Db2 Object Administration opens the System Variables window (see the following figure). Some of these variables are assigned during installation and cannot be changed. Others can be changed in the User Profile Display and Edit window shown in Maximized User Profile Display and Edit window. This window is maximized. For an explanation of each variable, see section 6, Options and Profiles. The SHOW primary command with the SYSVAR keyword also opens the System Variables window.
