Product Setup Checklist


Before using some components, you need to do some initial setup.

Set up and verify the installation of the Metadata Analyzer

  • Set up access to additional databases if needed.
  • Launch Metadata Analyzer. Log in using the Metadata Analyzer Login dialog box. Appearance of the Metadata Analyzer window indicates successful installation.
  • If you are an Administrator:
    • You should immediately change the administrator password to prevent admin-level access by Guests.
    • If you plan to run DB2 collections using the Metadata Analyzer, IBM's DB2 Connect must be installed and configure Use IBM's DB2 Connect Client Configuration Assistant to define and test a database connection for each DB2 subsystem (or DBMS Instance) from which you want to collect. After the database connection(s) have been defined and tested successfully, you can create and run a DB2 collection in the Metadata Analyzer by referencing a database alias name defined in a DB2 Connect database connection. For information on setting up DB2 Connect, refer to IBM's DB2 product documentation or contact your DB2 Administrator.

Set up Program Analyzer

  • Launch Program Analyzer.
  • Review the Program Analyzer settings.
