Analyzing the Performance Profile: Strobe for WebSphere MQ

This section presents and explains the types of Strobe reports produced by Strobe for WebSphere MQ. The following briefly describes the types of reports:

  • A set of four reports provides data showing CPU usage for batch and CICS applications resulting from WebSphere MQ service calls. You can set a report parameter to cause Strobe to report on IMS transaction level instead of module level.
  • A set of four comparable reports shows data reflecting wait time experienced by the batch application due to WebSphere MQ. You can set a report parameter to cause Strobe to report on IMS transaction level instead of module level.
  • A set of two reports each showing a summary of IMS transaction time resulting from calls to WebSphere MQ resources. One report shows IMS transaction CPU usage time and the other report shows IMS transaction wait time.
  • One report shows the service time spent by CICS transactions accessing WebSphere MQ in an online MVS environment.
