List Management
List Management allows administrators to create, edit, and delete lists of activity filters. These lists may then be applied within the Create Archive Request form of Archive Management section in Session Monitor. Each list can either be a list of Exclude filters or Include filters, two of which may be applied to an archive request of the 3270 type. You can perform the following actions in this page.
Filtering lists
The table found within the List Management section can become extensive. You can quickly find a list by using the Filter Lists text box. Enter the required text in this field to filter and display corresponding items whose name, type, or description contain the specified text string.
Adding a list
You can create an empty list to which you can add filters. To add a new list:
- Click
to open the Add List dialog box. - The Add List dialog box contains three items:
- Name – The name that will be assigned to the list that can only contain alphanumeric, ?, *, @, #, or $ characters and cannot start with a numeric character (maximum of 8 characters).
- Type – Two options are available in this dropdown menu, Include and Exclude. Selecting Include will designate all the filters put into this list as Include filters, and selecting Exclude will likewise designate added filters as Exclude filters.
- Description – Each list may have a description tied to it. Enter it here.
- After entering the three items, click
to create the list and add it to the table, or
to close the dialog.
Deleting a list
Deleting a list is a permanent action, after which you cannot recover the list. To delete a list:
- Select the list to be deleted from the List Management table. To select multiple lists, press the ctrl button and click the required lists.
- Click
. A confirmation dialog box with a list of the lists to be deleted, is displayed. - Click
to permanently delete the lists, or click
to close the dialog box.
Updating filters within a list
You can add or remove 3270-VTAM filters from a list. The filters will inherit the list’s type. To add and remove filters from a list:
- Click
adjacent to the list to expand its contents and show the filters that are currently assigned to the parent list. - Click
at the bottom of the table of the expanded list. - In the resultant dialog box to accept the 3270-VTAM filter criteria, specify the criteria and click
to add the filter to the list, or click
to close the dialog box. - To delete a filter, click
adjacent to the filter. A confirmation dialog box is displayed. - Click
to permanently delete the filter, or click
to close the dialog box.
