Migrating your current source code to the new process

This topic describes how to migrate your current source code processes to the new process. You must complete the implementation steps, which will setup your system for moving to the next step.

Populate the source listing file at the highest level ("PROD") controlled by your SCM

  1. Identify the associated LOADLIB library.
  2. Get the list of members in the LOADLIB library.
  3. Populate the source listing file with the associated listings.
    • If the listings already exist in a previously used source listing file, you can use the Shared Services move/copy utility to populate the new source listing file.
    • If the IBM listings exist in a PDS or flat file, you can use the Shared Services post-processor to populate the new source listing file.
    • If the IBM listings exist within your SCM, you can extract the listing and use the Shared Services post-processor to populate the new source listing file.
    • Finally, if none of these choices are feasible, you can continue without the matching listings. This reduces the retroactive use of the Source Support Best Practices, but gains over time.
  4. (Optional) For every level controlled by your SCM, repeat steps 2 and 3.
