We are announcing enhancements to the BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components product.

Overview of the enhancements

This section describes the following enhancements:

Support for fast binary transfer of packed files

BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components now supports fast binary transfer of packed files with BMC Compuware Topaz products versions 20.03.01 and later.

Display maintenance level of modules for BMC Compuware products

The maintenance level of modules for the following products are displayed

  • All BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components and Shared Services
  • BMC Compuware ISPW Base System
  • BMC Compuware Abend-AID
  • BMC Compuware File-AID for DB2, File-AID/RDX, and File-AID/MVS
  • BMC Compuware Xpediter for Code Coverage and Xpediter for TSO, and Xpediter for CICS

The maintenance information is written to a SYSOUT data set by the CMSC. The SYSOUT data set is dynamically allocated with the DD name CWMTDSP.

CMSC service support for BMC products

The BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components zAdviser service provides CMSC service support to all the products that have an existing BMC Compuware product license for all LPARs. The CMSC service is used to write zAdviser records to SMF and for streaming zAdviser records directly from z/OS to zAdviser, a subdomain of the Compuware API endpoint. All communications are outbound through a secure HTTPS connection and are GDPR compliant.

Tips

To obtain PTFs, use one of the following methods:

  • (Recommended) Use the IBM SMP/E RECEIVE ORDER command. For more information about using RECEIVE ORDER for BMC products, see Using SMP/E RECEIVE ORDER.

  • Use the BMC Compuware maintenance packaging engine to download the BMC Compuware service pack (cumulative maintenance). The Electronic Product Distribution - BMC Mainframe application provides the Compuware-Products tab where you can choose the cumulative maintenance for your products.
