Configuring BMC AMI zAdviser

This topic explains the process to configure zAdviser.

Disabling zAdviser streaming support

Set the ZADVISER parameter to NO. Records will not be written to zAdviser, but will continue to be written to SMF.

ZADVISER=NO

Enabling zAdviser current-version records

Set the ZADVISER_SMF_VERSION parameter to 17.02.07 and ensure all products are current on maintenance. This specification will tell BMC AMI products to write the latest-supported version of zAdviser records.

ZADVISER_SMF_VERSION=17.02.07

Enabling zAdviser record streaming

Set the ZADVISER parameter to YES. The CMSC parameter CES_SSL_KEYRING must specify a keyring that contains all four trusted Root CAs from AWS Trust Store. This allows the CMSC to Communicate outbound to the BMC API, api.bmc.comover HTTPS.

ZADVISER=YES

Important

  • The LMS parameters SMF_ID and SMF_LOGALL parameters must be specified for zAdviser records to be written for all products.
  • For the complete list of LMS parameters, see Configuring-LMS-for-a-new-install.
  • For the complete list of zAdviser parameters, see zAdviser-parameters.
