Creating an assignment
- In the ASSIGNMENTS view, click Create Assignment (
). Alternatively, click View> Command Palette > DevX Code Pipeline: Create Assignment. The Create Assignment page is displayed. In the Create Assignment page, perform the following steps. - In the Default path field, click Find. The Select a default path field is displayed. In the Select a default path field, you can choose the previously created path, or you can select the New Search Criteria option and enter the following fields:
- From the Stream list, select the code that defines the application structure with which the application is associated.
- From the Application list, select the application code.
- From the SubAppl list, select the sub-application code.
- From the Level list, select the default starting/update level for tasks in this assignment.
- In the Description field, enter the description of the assignment.
- In the Owner field, your user ID is displayed.
- From the Assignment prefix list, select the prefix to be appended to the next assignment number. Prefixes are defined on the mainframe.
- In the Work Request field, enter the work request for the assignment and press Enter.
- In the Default Release field, you perform the following steps.
- Select the release from the release list that you want to use to associate logically related assignments; tasks added to the assignment will default to this release.
- Click Filter if you want to create a filter to search for any particular release. The Filter Releases dialog box is displayed. Enter the required fields in the Filter Releases dialog box.
- Click New to create a new release. The New Release dialog box is displayed.
In the New Release dialog box, enter the required information, select the desired date and time from the Implementation Schedule field, and click Create Release.
- In the User tag field, enter the user-definable four-character tag. This field is only enabled if the logged-in user ID matches the ID of the filtered owner. This field is optional.
- Click Create. A new assignment is created and you see a message with information about the successful creation of an assignment and the Open Assignment option. Click Open Assignment to see the recently created assignment in the ASSIGNMENTS view. To refresh your assignment, click
and the task status added to the assignment is refreshed.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
