Allocating a PDS data set

You can use this functionality to create a new data set with the values.

To allocate a data set

  1. In the Workbench Explorer tree view, right-click the connection and select Allocate > PDS or Sequential Data Set.  You can also open the Allocate Data Set window, from the command palette by using the DevX Explorer: Allocate a PDS or Sequential Data Set command.
    The Allocate Data Set window is displayed in the editor with the default values.

  2. Provide the valid data and click Allocate Data Set.
    A notification message is displayed as Data set allocated: <data set name>.
    If you want to restore the default value in all the fields for the data set, click Restore Defaults.

Important

To allocate a sequential data set, select the data set type as NONE.



 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
