Configuring Common Enterprise Services URL

You can configure and validate the Common Enterprise Services (CES) URL in DevX Explorer settings to communicate with the on-premise CES server for licensing verification. You can also use the BMC cloud license service for BMC AMI DevX Workbench.

To configure the on-premise CES URL

  1. On the VS Code application, click the Manage icon (image2022-8-23_21-35-26.png) > Settings > Extensions >DevX Explorer > Common Enterprise Services (CES).
  2. In Licensing Service: On-premise option, enter the CES URL and click Validate URL. The CES URL must be version 23.04.02 or later. You see a validation success message when the entered URL is validated successfully. If you do not want to use your on-premise CES URL then you can use the BMC cloud licensing by selecting the Licensing Service: BMC cloud licensing check box.

You can see the stored credentials option. If you change the URL to a CES that has security or turn on security, you must specify credentials based on the authentication type, the first time accessing this option, and the credentials will be stored. If you don't want to store your credentials, clear the Store credentials check box. You see the prompt to enter your password when the specified password is expired, invalid, or changed.
