Getting started
BMC AMI DevX Workbench Explorer (DevX Explorer)
DevX Explorer allows developers to gain access to mainframe application development resources through the BMC Host Communications Interface (HCI). The extension allows you to connect to HCI using secure and unsecure connections, as well as the ability to search and filter data sets and members. Developers can browse and edit code using the Lock Acquiring Mechanism that enables them to edit the program and still maintain the integrity of code so they don’t run into code merge issues. Leverage automatic download of copybooks and refresh on demand. Users can also perform various data set and member operations (i.e. delete, rename, allocate, refresh, recall), as well as submit job and monitor job execution using Job explorer.
The following video (2:12) provides detailed information about how to create an HCI connection.
BMC AMI DevX Workbench Code Debug (DevX Code Debug)
DevX Code Debug allows Visual Studio Code users to debug mainframe applications. The solutions enable developers to batch debug COBOL, PL/I, C, and Assembler programs. Developers can also specify LOADLIB, DDIO and log data set in debug configurations. The solution also empowers the
developers with the ability to perform common debug operations (i.e.. watch variables, conditional breakpoint).
BMC AMI DevX Workbench Code Pipeline (DevX Code Pipeline)
DevX Code Pipeline is an active work environment that coordinates and controls application development and support work. It invokes the right tool at the right point in the process. Code Pipeline hides the underlying files and mechanics of application development. Developers don’t need to know file names or even how to generate modules because Code Pipeline keeps that information in its repository instead of in documentation, procedures spaces, or the heads of the staff that work on those systems.
BMC AMI DevX Workbench File-AID (DevX File-AID)
DevX File-AID provides you browsing and editing capabilities to MVS and VSAM type data sets. This extension provides powerful visualization and preserves data integrity and relationships.
