Editing PDS member/data set
You can open any data set in edit mode and make the required edits. Workbench Explorer supports edit functionality for a file size maximum of 20 MB. If you have installed BMC AMI DevX Workbench File-AID, you can use the Edit With option and the required option to edit members using the VSCode editor or File-AID data editor.
The steps to perform the same are as follows:
To filter and edit data set in edit mode
- Select the required HCI connection. You will see a notification to create an HCI connection if no HCI connection is found.
- Click the Add filter icon and search the data sets for the HCI connection.
The data sets will be displayed under the filter. - Expand the data set to view all the members.
Right-click on the member name and click Edit.
The data set will open in the edit mode and you can make the changes. When the data set is opened in the edit mode, it will get locked and you can see the lock icon (
) beside the data set. No other user can edit it. A notification message is displayed if any other user tries to access that data set. If the editor is closed then the lock is released.
- From the menu bar, click File and then click Save to save your changes. You can also press Ctrl+S to save your changes. If you have enabled the Autosave option, the changes will be saved automatically.
