Downloading copybooks
Copybooks can be downloaded automatically when you open a COBOL or PL/I program in the editor or manually when needed. For example, if you want to download the latest copy of the copybooks or if the program has been modified.
To manually download the copybooks, right-click on the editor and select Download Copybooks.
When you download copybooks automatically or manually, the download may be successful or you might see errors.
- In the successful download of all copybooks, you can see the results in the OUTPUT panel.
- In case you will not be able to download any or all the copybooks, the following scenarios might be the possible reasons:
- You have not configured the copybooks settings. In this scenario if you are downloading the copybooks for the first time in a new instance, you will see a notification with the Settings option directing it to copybooks settings, else, a warning will be displayed in the OUTPUT panel.
- In case of any error, the OUTPUT panel will come into focus stating the errors, if settings have invalid data set entries along with what all the copybooks cannot be downloaded. if you are downloading copybooks first time in a new instance, you will see a notification with the error and the Settings option directing to copybooks settings along with the OUTPUT panel.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
