Creating an assignment


This section provides information about how to create an assignment.

To create an assignment

  1. In the ASSIGNMENTS view, click Create Assignment (image2023-2-2_15-48-45.png). Alternatively, click View> Command Palette > Code Pipeline: Create Assignment.
    The Description field is displayed. 
  2. In the Description field, enter the description of the assignment. The Select a default path field is displayed.
  3. In the  Select a default path field, you can select the New Search Criteria option or you can choose the previously created path. If you have selected any previously created path, skip steps 4 to 7 and go to step 8.
  1. From the Stream list, select the code that defines the application structure with which the application is associated.
  2. From the Application list, select the application code.
  3. From the SubAppl list, select the sub-application code. 
  4. From the Level list, select the default starting/update level for tasks in this assignment.
  5. From the Assignment prefix list, select the prefix to be appended to the next assignment number. Prefixes are defined on the mainframe.
  6. In the Work Request field, enter the work request for the assignment and press Enter.
    A new assignment is created and you see a message with information about the successful creation of an assignment and the Open Assignment option. Click Open Assignment to see the recently created assignment in the ASSIGNMENTS view. If you want to refresh your assignment you can click image2023-2-8_15-19-17.pngand the task status added to the assignment will be refreshed. 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
