Changing the Communication Manager


The current communication manager is used to identify which repositories are available throughout . Most users will only make use of the <LOCAL> communication manager which is installed with .

Advanced users may choose to use the communication manager that is installed with File-AID Services. This remote communication manager can be used to share repositories with multiple users or for integration with .

There are several factors to consider when setting the current communication manager:

  • Before changing the communication manager, save any specifications currently being edited and close all  applications, such as Repository Manager, ConverterPro, and ComparePro.
  • Select the communication manager for current usage.
  • When using a remote communication manager for the first time, use the Repository Manager Utility to add shared repositories.
  • Specifications stored in repositories defined on a remote communication manager can be edited within  but can only be executed on standalone execution servers.
  • The CLI from  to  requires the remote communication manager.
  • When using a remote communication manager after configuring repositories, ComparePro application must be opened to set the results repository to a newly configured repository.
