The Execution Result

Execution of a Total Test Scenario produces an execution result that is stored in a result file (.result) under the Output folder of the project and in a sub folder structure similar to where the Total Test Scenario is located under the src or test folder.

The result file is self-contained meaning that it contains all information about the execution as well as the complete Total Test Scenario that was executed, the Execution context, and optionally the validation file that were used for the execution. This makes it possible to see what Total Test Scenario, validation data and other settings were used to produce the result. It is also possible to restore these data from the results. Read on to learn how.

The result is automatically opened in an execution result editor when the execution completes, and it can be reopened by double-clicking the .result file.

The Execution Result editor presents the result in different ways depending on what you are looking for. The overall result – success or failure – is shown by a green or red color. Depending on your need, four or five tabs are available that present information differently. Each tab will be described in the following sections.
