Configure the iStrobe plug-in
The procedures below assume that you have installed the plug-in.
Follow the procedure below to specify the server where is installed so that the plug-in will know which server to connect to.
To specify preferences for the plug-in
- Start the Eclipse-based environment in which the plug-in is installed and select Window > Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appears.
- Select BMC > iStrobe (or, in Eclipse or RDz, select Preference > iStrobe). The iStrobe - Server Definitions pane appears.
- Click Add. The iStrobe: Add Server Definition dialog box appears.
- In the Protocol field, choose either http or https.
- In the Host field, enter the name of the server where is installed.
- In the Port field, enter the port number for the server where is installed.
- Optionally, change the name of the web application that appears in the Website field. This name is used in the URL that is used to access . By default, it is set to istrobe during installation.
- In the Description field, enter a descriptive name for the server. This is the name you will select from the BMC menu to launch .
- Click OK. The server you defined appears in the iStrobe - Server Definitions list on the Preferences dialog box.
- Repeat steps 3 through 9 to add additional server definitions if desired.
To edit a server definition
- Select the server definition in the iStrobe - Server Definitions list and click Edit. The iStrobe: Edit Server Definition dialog box appears.
- Make changes and click OK.
To remove a server definition
Do either of the following:
- To remove a single server definition, select the server definition in the iStrobe - Server Definitions list and click Remove.
- To remove all server definitions in the list, click Restore Defaults.
To test a server connection
Select the server definition in the iStrobe - Server Definitions list and click Test. A message indicates whether the connection was successful. If it was not, ensure that the data entered is correct and then contact the server administrator if necessary.
