Add Project Metadata


You can add project metadata through the Metadata Selection dialog box within the project.

To add project metadata:

  1. Select the Coverage tab from an open project and click Add. The Metadata Selection dialog box appears.
  2. Select the type of metadata to be added: databases or data sets.
  3. Expand Hosts. All of the hosts that are configured appear in the Hosts list.
  4. Select the desired Host. If a logon is required to access the desired Host, a logon dialog box will appear and you must log on at this time.
  5. Enter a filter for the data set or schema to locate your metadata (Table object or COBOL or PL/I layout), then select the desired metadata object and click OK. The entire schema or data set can be selected, or specific tables or members can be selected. Your metadata will now appear on the Manage Metadata view.
  6. Continue adding metadata until you have added all of the desired metadata to the project.


 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
