Source Data Identifier - Number Processing Options

Processing options differ depending on the type of data element you created.

Number processing options include decimal position, value alignment, and normalization. Value alignment specifies how outbound values are aligned and filled when the source field is a fixed length character field. The first option is the default.

Decimal Positions option is:

  • Decimal positions: Select the checkbox for Decimal positions and enter a value for Number of decimal positions only if the metadata identified by this source data identifier does not include decimal positions and you want to process the value with implied decimal positions.

Value Alignment options specify how outbound values are aligned and filled when the source field is a fixed-length character field and include:

  • Use the option specified in the Data Element (default)
  • Right justify and zero fill
  • Right justify and blank fill
  • Left justify and blank fill

Normalization options include:

  • Use the processing options specified in the Data Element (default)
  • Use normalization expression for this data identifier: If you select this option, click Edit next to the Inbound expression field or the Outbound expression field. The Expression Builder will appear allowing you to create the desired expression. For more information about the Expression Builder, see Expression-Builder and Create-a-New-Expression-with-the-Expression-Builder.
