Import a Global Composite Definition

A global composite definition can be used by multiple projects. To import a composite definition into a project, that project must be open. The user role assigned determines who can modify a project by importing a global composite definition into the project. For more information, see Manage-Security and Role-Authorizations.

To import a global composite definition:

  1. Select and open the desired project from the Rules Explorer view.
  2. Select the Composites tab. This opens the Composites view.
  3. In the Composites area, click Global. This opens the Import Global Composite Definition dialog box.

You can select more than one composite definition at a time from the Import Global Composite Definition dialog box. The name of each composite definition imported from the Global project will prefixed by the word Global: to indicate that the definition resides in the Global project. All data items and categories used by the Global composite will be imported if they do not already exist in the project.

  4. Select the desired global composite definition(s) and click Import.
  5. The imported composite definitions now appears in the Composites view.
