Export a Composite Definition

Composite definitions can be exported to an XML file. The exported composite includes the entire composite definition, including all data items and data item categories used by the composite being exported. To export composite definitions from a project, that project must be open. The user role assigned determines who can export composite definitions from the project. For more information, see Manage-Security and Role-Authorizations.

To export a composite definition:

  1. Select and open the desired project from the Rules Explorer view.
  2. Select the Composites tab. This opens the Composites view.
  3. Click Export. The Export Composite Definitions to a file dialog box appears. You can select more than one composite definition at a time from the Export Composite Definitions to a file dialog box.
  4. Select one or more desired composite definitions and click Export.
  5. Browse to the desired location, enter a file name, and click Save. The selected composite definitions are written to an XML file.
