Unit Test

The Unit Test element is used to refer and execute a Virtualized Test (Unit Test) Scenario file (.testscenario). This will include the resulting syntax tree in the current Total Test Scenario result.

Add Unit Test to the Test Scenario by dragging it from the tool palette. This opens the Insert a new Unit Test element popup. Here are the fields available when setting up this element:

  • Select a unit test scenario file - select the desired .testscenario you want. This must be a .testscenario that was captured within the same project.
  • OK / Cancel - click on OK to save your element.

Important

Before executing a unit test scenario or test suite, verify that the required source listings are current and that the date and timestamp on the listing must match the date and timestamp of the load module or an invalid return code appears in the debug log and the test case fails with a user abend.
Source listing support is required for:

  • IMS
  • CICS
  • Db2
  • Statically linked sub-programs
