Test Scenario

The Test Scenario element is used to refer and execute another Total Test Scenario file (.scenario) that was captured within the same project. This will include the resulting syntax tree in the current Total Test Scenario result.

It is possible to use a Data Reference element in a test scenario that refers to a Referenceable element in the Test Scenario.

The Test Scenario element makes it possible to externalize reusable parts of a Total Test Scenario to be used in several tests, for example, for setting up data before starting a test.

Add Test Scenario to the Test Scenario by dragging it from the tool palette. This opens the Insert a new Test Scenario element popup. Here are the fields available when setting up this element:

  • File path - from the drop down, select the .scenario file path desired. This must be a .scenario that was captured within the same project.
  • OK / Cancel - click on OK to save your element.

Multiple redefines

When there are multiple redefines for a field, by default the field itself will be used.

To use another field that redefines the original field, in the Element Properties tab right click the field and select Use as redefine from the context menu.

To only see the fields that are active, use the context menu option Hide deactivated fields.

In the web browser, the redefined fields are set to active by clicking the activate link in the browser.
