Getting started without the Total Test Repository Server
By installation default, Total Test will be setup to not use a Repository Server. This can be changed under Window > Preferences > BMC > > Repository Server with check box Use repository server.
To get started with non-virtualized testing without the use of the repository server is the same as getting started with the Eclipse client when using the repository server. The only requirement is that you have at least one Host Connection defined in . Total Test uses the host connections to connect to an LPAR where your program to be tested can execute.
Go to the Using-the-Eclipse-Client topic to start learning, and just skip the steps mentioning setting up URL for the repository and using the Repository with. The functionality is the same except for the missing elements mentioned above. Instead of setting up a Functional Test element, try drag and drop the Job Submit element into the test case and setup JCL for submitting a job. Or simply drag in some Log elements and see that you can execute the test scenario and get a result.
