Launching the 3270 Emulator

Follow the instructions below to open an emulator session in an editor in the workspace.

To open the 3270 Emulator

Do any of the following:

  • Click image2021-8-12_12-32-34.png.
  • In Project Explorer, right-click the connection file and select Open.
  • In Project Explorer, right-click the connection file and select Open With, and select 3270 Emulator Session.
  • To launch another 3270 session from the same 3270 Emulator connection file, in Project Explorer, select the connection file for the session that is already open. From the Window menu, select New Editor (Eclipse prior Luna 4.4) or Window Editor Clone (Eclipse Luna 4.4 and next). A second emulator session appears in an editor in the workspace.
Warning

Important

If the escape button (Esc) is pressed while in the emulator, the emulator enters command line mode. This mode is for BMC internal use only. To exit this mode, press Enter or Esc.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
