Copying or moving windows files and folders
Users can copy or move Windows files and folders.
To move or copy files or folders
- Do one of the following:
- Right-click the resource and select Cut or Copy. Then right-click the target node and select Paste.
- Press Ctrl+C (to copy) or Ctrl+X (to cut/move). Then select the target node and select Ctrl+V.
Select the resource and then drag and drop it within Host Explore
The Move/Copy dialog box appears. The Copy box (or Move box if a cut operation was selected) lists the resources to be moved or copied. The To field indicates the target.
- In the Operation options, select Move or Copy, depending on the action to be taken. If Cut was selected or Ctrl+X was pressed in step 1, Move is selected by default. Conversely, Copy is selected by default for drag and drop actions. Regardless of the original choice, either Move or Copy can be selected now.
- In the Existing Files (or Existing Members) option, select Replace or Append (options may be disabled depending on the type of resources involved).
- In the Rename box, type a name in the New Name field (options may be disabled depending on the type of resources involved). Rename is only active when copying/moving a single PDS member.
- After specifying the options for the copy/move, click Copy or Move (the button's name toggles depending on the type of operation selected). The Move/Copy dialog box displays the results of the request within the Results column of the table. The involved resources are updated within Host Explorer. If there are any differences in the format of the From and To datasets, a warning appears giving an option to proceed or cancel.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
