Work List View


The Work List view displays a task's “work in progress” and audit trail. It shows what was last done to the task, by whom and what assignment it is in. It provides a different view of work in progress that may be more useful for QA staff and project leaders. You can also search for text within files by using the Work List view.

To open the Work List view

From the Window menu, select Show View>Other>Code Pipeline>Work List and click OK. The Work List view appears.

To filter the Work List view

  1. Click Filter.PNG. The Work List Filter dialog box appears.
  2. Use either the check boxes within the Type selection box or the Date selection box:
    • In progress - Select to show active tasks that are not in Production
    • Production - Select to show current Production tasks
    • Historical - Select to show tasks that were once in Production
    • Use selected dates - Select to be able to enter a date range for filtering
  3. Complete the remaining fields to filter as desired. See Field-Definitions for additional information. The Work List view refreshes to reflect the filters entered.
  4. Click OK.

To perform a quick search of the Work List view

In the Find bar, enter the text on which to search. The existing Work List view dynamically refreshes to show only the results that have a cell that contains the entered text.

To perform a text-based search via the Work List view

  1. In the Work List view, click ISPW-Search_icon3.png.
    The Search dialog box opens in the ISPW-Search_icon3.png Code Pipeline Search tab.
  2. In the Search for text field, specify the required text that you are looking for in the files.
  3. Specify the required values in the mandatory Stream and Application fields, and select the required State check box.
  4. Specify any other fields to further filter the search results.
  5. Click Search.
    The Work List view refreshes and displays the search result in a tabular format. The results include all the files containing the text being searched for.

To select columns to be shown in the Work List view

In the Work List view, right-click the table header row and select the column to be added to or removed from the view. A check mark indicates a column that already appears in the view. Columns are added to the right side of the table.

Warning

Important

At least one column must remain in the view.

Click Restore Defaults to reset the size and order of the columns to the default settings. By default, all columns are displayed.

To add tasks from the search results to assignments

From the Search results in the Work List view, you can choose to add specific tasks to assignments or add the tasks to assignments with checkout. Right-click the task and select Add to Assignment or Add to Assignment with Check Out. For more information, see Create-a-New-Task-or-Add-Tasks-to-an-Assignment.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
