Set View

The Set view is used to view details about a set, which is where all Code Pipeline for Eclipse actions—such as checkout, generate, and promote—are performed. The left pane of the view is the properties table for the set and displays the set's attributes and a link to the set log. Some set properties can be modified using the Modify Set dialog box. The right pane is the task table and shows the tasks within the set.

The Set list is a drop-down list of the 15 most recently used set containers.

Columns, actions, and fields

See column definitionsaction definitions, and field definitions for information about the columns, actions, and fields in this view.

Warning

Important

When the set is the active container, certain actions, like promote, will be disabled for the set.

To open the Set view

Do one of the following:

  • In the Containers view's Containers column, click the hyperlink for the desired set. The Set view appears and shows the set as the active set. The selected set is added to the Set list, the drop-down for which shows the 15 most recent releases in the format Set ID: Set description. The properties table reflects the active set and the tasks in the selected set are added to the task table.
  • In the Approvals view, Assignment view, Deployment view, Task History view, Tasks view, or Release view's Set column, click the hyperlink for the desired set. The Set view appears and shows the set as the active set. The selected set is added to the Set list, the drop-down for which shows the 15 most recent releases in the format Set ID: Set description. The properties table reflects the active set and the tasks in the selected set are added to the task table.
  • From the Window menu, select Show View>Set. The Set view appears.
  • From the Window menu, select Show View>Other>Code Pipeline>Set. The Set view appears.
  • After a generate or build action, select the Set ID link to display the set log. This link appears in the Console view with the results of the generate or build action.

To perform a quick search of the task table

In the Find bar, enter the text on which to search. The existing view contents are dynamically refreshed to show only the components that have a cell that contains the entered text.

To select columns to be shown in the Set view

In the Set view, right-click the table header row and select the column to be added to or removed from the view. A check mark indicates a column that already appears in the view. Columns are added to the right side of the table.

Warning

Important

  • At least one column must remain in the view
  • Click Restore Defaults to reset the size and order of the columns to the default settings. The default columns are NameTypeLevelStatusVersionApplication, SubAppl, AssignmentRelease, and Codeline Path.

To view set properties

In the Set view, right-click the task and select Properties. The Task Properties dialog box appears:

  1. Optionally, in the Component description field, enter text describing the purpose of the module, which will appear in the Component description column of the Set view.
  2. Optionally, in the Task description field, enter a description of the changes made in this version of the module, which will appear in the Task description column of the Set view.
  3. Click OK.

To find a set

  1. In the Set view, click magglass.gif. The Find Set dialog box appears showing, under Matching Sets, the sets that match the current user ID.
  2. If needed, modify the sets that are displayed by entering search criteria in the fields in the Criteria box, then click Find. The Matching Sets box populates with sets that match the new filter criteria. See field definitions for information about the fields in the Criteria box.

    Warning

    Important

    • The User ID filter requires an exact match to show any results.
    • The remaining filters can use a string ending in a wildcard character (asterisk ‘*’) except the Stream and Application, which contain a selection list.
    • Some field names are configurable (For example, ISSUE # may be WORKREF in your installation).
  3. Select the set to be set as the active set and click OK. The set is added to the Set list in the Set view.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
