Generate Impacts View


The Generate Impacts view is used to show a list of impacts that need to be generated.

To open the Generate Impacts view

  • In a view that supports tasks, right-click the task and select View>Generate Impacts.
  • In the Task view, Assignment View, and Release view that support the selection of multiple tasks, right-click the tasks and select View>Generate Impacts. The Find Tasks for Generate Impacts dialog is displayed. For more information, see Find-tasks-for-Generate-Impacts.
  • From the Window menu, select Show View>Other>Code Pipeline>Generate Impacts
  • From the Generate Impacts view, click the assignment ID link in the Generate Impacts column. The selected assignment container is added to the Assignment list, the drop-down for which shows the 15 most recent active assignments in the format Assignment ID: Assignment description. The tasks in the selected container are added to the Tasks table.

To view information about the generated impacts

  • Look at the Console view, which shows the generate messages, to see information about the progress and results of the generation.
  • From the Console view following a generate failure, open the job output in an editor as follows:
    • To view the generate job output, click the job ID's hyperlink.
    • To view the output of a DD, click the link for the DD from the list of the JES job DD name hyperlinks.

To show assignment or release information about a container

Do one of the following:

  • To view information about an assignment, click the hyperlink in the Assignment column. The Assignment view appears and shows the assignment as the active assignment.
  • To view information about a release, click the hyperlink in the Release column. The Release view appears and shows the release as the active release.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
