Enter TSO console commands
The Console view can be used to enter TSO console commands (REXX and CLIST) and view the resulting response output.
To enter TSO console commands
Do one of the following:
- Type the desired command using standard TSO command syntax and press Enter. For example, to return the time, type time. To execute a CLIST or REXX from a dataset, type exec '<your dataset(member)>'. To enter a CLIST that takes parameters, type exec '<your dataset(member)' '<your space-delimited parameters>'.
- Click
. The Issue recent TSO Commands Console command dialog box appears. Select the desired command and click OK.
The command is executed and the results appears in the Console view when the command is complete.
- Do either of the following:
- If the Console view is open, from the
dropdown list, select TSO Commands Console.
- If the Console view is not open, from the Window menu, select Show View>Console. Then, from the
dropdown list, select TSO Commands Console.
- If the Console view is open, from the
The Console view appears.
To have multiple consoles open concurrently
- Open a TSO Commands Console and establish a mainframe connection as described above.
- Click
. This pins the open Console view.
- From the
drop-down list, select New Console View. A second Console view appears.
- With the second console view active, from the
drop-down list, select TSO Commands Console.
- Click
. This pins the second Console view.
- Establish a mainframe connection for the second Console view as described above.
